"Local Character Carnival in Gunma 2026" to be held at Gunma Prefectural Office on September 26th (Sat) and 27th (Sun), 2026!

Gunma Prefecture will host the "Local Character Carnival in Gunma 2026" for two days on Saturday, September 26th, and Sunday, September 27th, 2026. Last year's "Local Character Carnival," which was the third iteration, featured 120 characters and attracted over 48,000 visitors.

This year, we are also recruiting local characters and many others from within and outside the prefecture to participate, aiming for an even greater turnout than last year.

Especially this year, with Gunma-chan's new song "Gunma-chan Ba!" leading the way, we are diligently preparing plans to make the entire event filled with a samba atmosphere.

The venue will feature character PR booths, food trucks, and various stage events. Future information will be announced on Gunma-chan's official website, social media, and the special "Local Character Carnival" webpage.
