POSTAS Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Koichi Honda; hereinafter referred to as POSTAS) is pleased to announce that our cloud-based mobile POS register "POS+" has been registered as a "Smart Register" eligible for preferential treatment under the "Digitalization and AI Introduction Subsidy 2026" implemented by the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency. This registration means that businesses introducing "POS+" in their subsidy applications from the 3rd application period onwards will receive preferential points during the screening process.

On June 15, 2026, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced that as part of its initiative to promote the spread of "Smart Register Systems" that contribute to productivity improvement and flexible response to tax rate changes, preferential points for applications to introduce smart register systems would be strengthened from the 3rd application period of the "Digitalization and AI Introduction Subsidy - Invoice Framework (Invoice Compatibility Type)".

A smart register system refers to a mobile POS register that uses general-purpose devices such as tablets and smartphones as register terminals, and is characterized by its ability to centrally manage sales, inventory, customer information, and other data in the cloud. Our "POS+" is a service that meets the requirements of this smart register system as a cloud-based mobile POS register specialized for the food service, retail, beauty, and clinic industries.

As announced on May 19, "POS+" has already been certified as an eligible vendor for the "Digitalization and AI Introduction Subsidy." With this smart register registration, businesses applying for subsidies using "POS+" from the 3rd application period onwards will receive preferential points during screening, making it easier to introduce smart registers utilizing subsidies.

Furthermore, regarding future anticipated consumption tax rate changes, the cloud-based "POS+" is planned to support tax rate changes on the management screen through app updates. As there will be no additional charges for updates, introducing businesses can prepare for system changes without financial concerns. The introduction of a smart register is not only for invoice system compatibility but also an effective option for preparing for future system changes.

With the support of our partner companies, we have established a system to provide end-to-end support, from subsidy application to implementation and post-grant reporting. Our cumulative adoption rate to date is 92.1% (*). Since the contract is concluded after subsidy approval, no payment or processing fees are required before approval, and consultations and applications can be made without financial risk, regardless of the outcome.

Moving forward, under our mission of "Creating the next step in hospitality together," we will promote the efficiency of store operations through the power of technology to address the increasingly severe labor shortage and contribute to creating an environment where staff can focus on customer service and hospitality that only humans can provide.
