Kyoto Porta's Souvenir Zone 'Kyo-konomi' to Undergo Full Renovation in July 2026!

JR West Kyoto SC Development Co., Ltd. (President: Takatoshi Morimoto) will fully renovate the souvenir zone 'Kyo-konomi' at 'Kyoto Porta,' which it operates, in July 2026. This renovation will see six stores sequentially reopening, including the large souvenir shop 'Omiyae Kaido,' three new stores, and three relocated/renovated stores.

This release provides detailed information on the six new Kyoto souvenir stores opening in 'Kyo-konomi,' new food establishments set to open, and additional information regarding the much-anticipated first Disney Store in the Kyoto Station area. ★ Renovation Highlights

◆ Full Renovation of Souvenir Zone 'Kyo-konomi' (Sequential Opening from July 1, 2026)

✅ A large Kyoto souvenir shop 'Omiyae Kaido' featuring select popular Kyoto confections, and trendy specialty stores will debut.
✅ The store layout and aisles will be renewed. A Kyoto-esque presentation will create a commercially accessible space for easy shopping.

In the underground eastern area 'Kyo-konomi,' a full renovation will be implemented to meet a wide range of customer needs. Due to many customers requesting 'abundant selection and comparative purchasing,' the self-service style 'Omiyae Kaido Kyo-konomi Store,' which excels in its range of Kyoto souvenirs and editorial strength, will open as the core store.

As a new specialty store, the 'atelier京ばam' confectionery hall from Kyoto's Jujo district will make its debut in a commercial facility. Additionally, popular specialty stores like 'Kyogashi-dokoro Kotsuki,' known for 'Senju Senbei,' will be available, catering to the diverse needs of customers seeking Kyoto souvenirs. The store design and aisles will also be renewed, transforming it into a commercially accessible space with Kyoto-esque presentation.

◆ Additional Information on New Food Establishments, Including a Bento Box Format from Long-Standing Restaurant 'Shimogamo Saryo'

At the 2nd floor of the station building, 'Kyomeika Meisai-dokoro Kyo,' a bento box format from the restaurant 'Shimogamo Saryo,' established in 1853, will open on April 28, 2026. They will offer bento boxes and side dishes that allow customers to casually enjoy the taste of a long-standing restaurant, such as 'Wappa Meshi' utilizing the gorgeous ingredients of Kyoto cuisine. Additionally, a new wagyu beef restaurant, 'Kyoto Wagyu Yaero,' will open on the 11th floor of the station building, 'Porta Sky Dining.'

◆ 'Disney Store' Opening Campaign Information (Opening April 28, 2026)

The new 'Omiyae Kaido Kyo-konomi Store,' unlike the existing two stores, will offer a more 'Kyoto-esque' product composition and presentation, providing a space where 'choosing souvenirs itself feels like a travel memory.' The product lineup, ranging from long-established Kyoto brands to popular standard items and trendy casual goods, offers 'the joy of choosing.'

For spatial presentation, in addition to adopting a 'Chōchin-style' LED signage capable of 360-degree video projection as an eye-catcher, Kyoto traditional crafts will be utilized in the interior design in cooperation with the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts, embodying 'Kyoto'
