[Goal Achieved: 1.5 Million Yen!] Kyoto's Beloved Town Chinese Restaurant 'Beijing-tei' Revived Through Welfare Power! 94 Supporters Back the Gritty Challenge of Employment Continuation Support B 'Poppo'

NPO Keiten Aijin Kai's Employment Continuation Support B facility 'Poppo' (Location: Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) has achieved its crowdfunding goal of 1.5 million yen to revive the beloved local town Chinese restaurant 'Beijing-tei', which had closed down. With warm support from 94 individuals, the project is now fully launching towards opening a restaurant where members with disabilities can work with pride. In conjunction with the project's launch, we are also beginning to recruit new users (members) who will be involved in restaurant operations and original merchandise production.

■ Background and Report on Project Achievement

'Employment Continuation Support B Poppo' launched the revival project for 'Beijing-tei', a local favorite that had sadly closed, with the aim of creating 'work that connects with society and fosters pride,' rather than just mere tasks.

With a small team of 3 staff members and the president, we persistently and diligently reached out to the local community and related organizations. As a result, we received significant support totaling 1,597,000 yen (106% of the goal) from 94 individuals. The average support amount per donor was approximately 16,500 yen, indicating that each person truly invested in this challenge.

Furthermore, this project was selected as one of the top 11 finalists out of 11,408 applications nationwide in the '#DreamIWantToFulfill' project hosted by Sawa-Kami Investment Trust Co., Ltd., which manages the independent investment trust 'Sawa-Kami Fund'. We believe this new model of welfare x business succession has been socially recognized.

The funds raised will be carefully used for store renovations and equipment investment to create a safe working environment for our members.

We are currently proceeding with store renovations and the establishment of operational systems. Progress towards the opening will be regularly shared on our official website, Instagram, and note.

1. From 'Just Tasks' to 'Real Business': Achieving Higher Wages in a Vibrant Kitchen

Through the production of 'Jyo no Gyoza' (dumplings made with heartfelt care) by our members and customer service at the restaurant, we will create a system where they can directly receive 'thank yous' and 'compensation' from society.

2. Creating an 'Original Brand of Town Chinese Restaurant,' Not Just a Welfare Facility Product

In addition to the food service, we will focus on producing original merchandise that leverages the members' illustration skills and rich creativity, such as the popular 'Rabbit Glasses' from the crowdfunding campaign, proposing diverse working styles.

3. From a 'Place to Be Supported' to a 'Place That Energizes the Community': Inheriting the Memory of a Beloved Long-Standing Restaurant

We aim to be a community hub where townspeople and members can naturally interact, functioning as a town Chinese restaurant that anyone can casually visit, rather than a closed-off welfare facility.
