30 Years Since the Publication of 'Kuso Kagaku Dokuhon'. New Label 'Kuso Kagaku Academia' Born on this Milestone Year.

Poplar Publishing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo / President: Hiroki Kato) published Volumes 1 and 2 of the children's book series "Kuso Kagaku Academia" on April 7, 2026. This is a new label of the bestselling "Kuso Kagaku Dokuhon" (Takarajimasha), which was first published in 1996 and is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

In the worlds of manga, anime, and games, people fly through the sky, destroy concrete with bare hands, and instantly grow into giants—such events are depicted as "normal." However, "Fantasy Science" seriously examines the questions of the entertainment world through a scientific lens, asking "Is that really possible?" and "What would happen if it were real?"

In addition to the traditional appeal of the series—the fun of scientifically considering the "why?" of entertainment works—this series digs deeper and carefully explains the way of thinking and procedures of scientific investigation itself. For this purpose, we aimed for a structure that is easy to understand and provides a sense of achievement in knowledge acquisition by focusing on explaining only one scientific concept per theme.
