Pony Canyon Inc. (President and CEO: Kazunari Okuma) is leveraging its planning, production, and promotional capabilities in entertainment to drive initiatives toward a sustainable society, extending beyond IP creation to include regional revitalization, cultural heritage preservation, and educational support.
Since its establishment in 1966, the company has utilized the expertise and networks cultivated through its wide-ranging businesses—including music, video, publishing, and events—to develop regional partnership projects that promote and disseminate the appeal of local resources.
Here are the key initiatives implemented between December 2025 and February 2026.
Promoting Tourism through History and Culture: Participation in "Oshiro Expo"
The company participated in "Oshiro Expo," one of Japan's largest castle-themed events held at Pacifico Yokohama. Historian Yu Hirayama and history YouTuber Mr. Bushido, both affiliated with the company, were fully involved. Marking its 10th anniversary, the event saw a record-breaking 23,017 attendees. With the 2026 Taiga drama "Toyotomi Kyodai!" (set in the Sengoku period) approaching, numerous local governments and related organizations participated, using exhibitions and lectures to promote regional appeal. By creating touchpoints with attendees highly interested in history and culture, the event has led to expanded opportunities for regional tourism promotion and cultural dissemination.

Regional Collaboration through Education and Culture: Yamatokoriyama City, Nara Prefecture Promotion
In conjunction with the 2026 broadcast of the Taiga drama "Toyotomi Kyodai!," the company is conducting regional promotions in partnership with Yamatokoriyama City, Nara Prefecture. This includes the production of supplementary educational materials supervised by historian Yu Hirayama and the hosting of talk events for citizens. Approximately 800 people attended the events, creating opportunities to deepen understanding of local history. This is an initiative that combines education, culture, and regional cooperation, aiming not only to attract tourists but also to foster civic pride and a sense of understanding and affection for one's hometown.
