Polyglots Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hayaya Yamaguchi; hereinafter 'Polyglots') will host a seminar for English educators titled 'English Education <From Here> Seminar Real' on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with Professor Shigezumi Tanaka, Professor Emeritus of Keio University, as the guest lecturer.

The sixth installment of the 'English Education <From Here> Seminar' series—co-launched by Professor Shigezumi Tanaka of Keio University and Polyglots, provider of the AI English learning app 'ReciPie'—will be the first-ever in-person event, held as a summer special under the title 'Koko Seminar Real,' in a two-part format.

The first session will focus on 'exercises,' a core element of English education. While fields such as sports have well-established 'exercise theories,' English education still lacks a solid theoretical foundation to answer the question: 'Why is this exercise effective?' In this seminar, Professor Tanaka will present his unique 'theory of exercises,' delivering a valuable lecture that also covers teacher behavior in the classroom and active learning activities.

The second session will feature an 'Advice Corner' where Professor Tanaka will directly respond to participants' concerns about English education. In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, attendees can share their teaching challenges, ask questions, and receive feedback on their own teaching experiments, enabling two-way discussions that leverage the unique setting of an in-person seminar.

Don't miss this valuable opportunity.

[About the 'English Education <From Here> Seminar']

'English education' encompasses diverse methodologies, historical trends, and individual teaching philosophies. Teachers may sometimes struggle to find clear guidance. To address this, Professor Shigezumi Tanaka, a long-time leader in English education research and practice, and Polyglots, developer of the AI English learning app 'ReciPie,' have co-founded the 'English Education <From Here> Seminar'—an informal learning space to explore 'the present and future of English education.'

The name '<From Here>' reflects both 'mastering the fundamentals' and 'looking toward the future from our current position.'

This seminar series provides knowledge and insights on current trends in English education and global educational movements, as well as future visions shaped by AI and ICT—offering English teachers a viable option when facing instructional challenges. Rather than one-way lectures, it adopts a seminar format emphasizing interaction and discussion with participants (via comment functions), creating opportunities to share and discuss everyday questions and concerns with Professor Tanaka and fellow attendees. While primarily online, offline events are also planned for the future.

Recommended not only for English teachers and aspiring educators, but also for learners seeking effective study methods and teachers of other subjects.

About the AI English Learning Service 'ReciPie for School'

'ReciPie for School' is an education-optimized version of 'ReciPie,' the English learning app used by over 2.5 million people. The service aims to support students’ independent learning while reducing teachers’ workloads.

Students can learn anytime, anywhere using the app. By selecting content based on their English proficiency, weak areas, and interests, they achieve personalized, adaptive learning.

Teachers can centrally manage assignment distribution, submission tracking, and scoring. AI efficiently supports task creation, distribution, grading, and feedback, significantly improving daily workflow efficiency.

Smart Assignment Feature

By inputting various news articles within 'ReciPie for School' or texts selected by teachers, AI automatically generates vocabulary and comprehension questions for classroom or homework use, as well as writing and speaking exercises. Since AI also handles grading and feedback, the entire process—from question creation to scoring and grade management—is completed within the app.

My Recipe Feature

An AI-powered feature that automatically creates a daily learning curriculum. Based on AI-generated in-app tests, students’ skills in vocabulary, listening, grammar, reading, and speaking are assessed on a five-level scale.
