About Accept International
https://accept-int.org/
Accept International is an NGO that aims to resolve serious but overlooked issues and break the cycle of hatred by supporting the social reintegration of youth involved in non-state armed groups in regions affected by terrorism and conflict.
Through the promotion of the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda, it proposes strengthening Japan's international cooperation regarding marginalized youth, including those involved in non-state armed groups, and establishing a new perspective on domestic policy. This aims to create an environment where all youth, both domestically and internationally, can realize their potential.
Accept International's Policy Proposal
In recent years, while the "role of youth" has been emphasized in the international community, youth in vulnerable situations due to various factors often lack opportunities for support and participation, preventing them from realizing their potential. This policy proposal focuses on the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda, an international framework for youth, and proposes strengthening Japan's international cooperation regarding marginalized youth, represented by those involved in conflicts, and establishing a new perspective in domestic policy. This aims to create an environment where all youth, both domestically and internationally, can maximize their potential.
Comment from Representative Director Yosuke Nagai
"Thank you very much for selecting us this time. Our organization has been working to resolve serious but overlooked issues and break the cycle of hatred by supporting the social reintegration of youth involved in conflicts in regions affected by terrorism and conflict. From this experience, we have strongly recognized the importance of creating an environment where marginalized youth, represented by those involved in conflicts, can realize their potential. It is essential to reaffirm this importance and strengthen efforts to enable all youth to realize their potential. In this project, as an NGO that has driven both practice and policy, we will pioneer new approaches to structural issues common to the international community and domestically regarding marginalized youth. With the determination to 'create it from Japan if there is no precedent,' we will commit ourselves wholeheartedly."
