Polimill Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representatives: Ayame Ito, Nonoka Taniguchi), a leader in the social implementation of generative AI, held an introductory training session on "QommonsAI," a generative AI for local governments, for Nagasaki Prefectural Office staff on June 12, 2026. The training was conducted both on-site and online. Approximately 20 people attended on-site, with many more participating online, indicating a high level of interest in the application and utilization phase.

Training Session

Training Implementation Overview

Implementing Local Government: Nagasaki Prefecture (Nagasaki Prefectural Office)

Training Curriculum: Introductory Level

Format: Hybrid (on-site and online)

Number of Participants: Approx. 20 on-site + many online

Participant Characteristics: Staff from planning and civil engineering departments. Over 80% are highly proficient users who utilize generative AI in their work almost daily.

Beyond the Basics, Towards Application and Utilization - High Interest in RAG Function

Participants in this training were from the planning and civil engineering departments, with over 80% utilizing generative AI in their work almost daily. Many already had a fundamental understanding of the basics, and their proficiency was generally at a high level.

During the Q&A session, practical questions were raised, such as "What are the unique features of QommonsAI?" and "How can we effectively utilize Private Knowledge (RAG function) in our own departments?" This demonstrated a shift in interest towards the application and utilization phase.

The most well-received part was the introduction of specific use cases. The presentation of real-world examples met the staff's need for "how to utilize it, even though we are using it," and particularly, proactive comments were received, such as "We want to try using Private Knowledge (RAG function) right away."

Highly Proficient Users Seek "Concrete Integration into Practical Work"

Particularly impressive were the spontaneous comments from participants in response to the instructor's explanations, such as "Indeed, it can be used that way" and "It was surprisingly specific, but I understand."

These remarks illustrate that even staff who already use generative AI daily can gain new insights and discoveries by being shown concrete application examples tailored to the practical work of local governments.

The instructor received high praise, with comments like "The rules to follow and specific usage examples were clear" and "As a former local government employee, the explanation was well-thought-out, based on actual local government examples and circumstances."

The training reaffirmed that participants with a high level of proficiency seek "how to integrate it into actual work" rather than abstract theories.

Comments from the Person in Charge (Person in Charge: Morita)

What I strongly felt during the training at the Nagasaki Prefectural Office was that "the more proficient staff are, the more they seek concrete answers." From those who use generative AI almost daily, we received a barrage of questions that went a step or two beyond introductory inquiries, such as "How can we leverage the RAG function in our own departments?"

What organizations with high proficiency levels need are "real-world examples that are more closely aligned with their own work." We will contribute to the organization-wide deployment and further improvement of operational efficiency by providing support that delves into specific application scenarios unique to Nagasaki Prefecture, such as the utilization of blueprints in the civil engineering department.
