54.4% Consider Middle School Entrance Exams 'Child's Exam', While About 1 in 4 Feel It's a 'Parent's Exam' [Survey of 500 in Tokyo]

Mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area, taking middle school entrance exams is steadily becoming a common educational pathway choice year by year. While the birthrate is declining, interest in educational investment is increasing, backed by a change in family consciousness wanting to 'let them learn in a better environment.' Therefore, in collaboration with 'Chugaku Juken Note Dazo', an information provision service useful for middle school entrance exams, we conducted a 'Questionnaire Survey on Middle School Entrance Exams' targeting 500 parents aged 30 to 59 living in Tokyo who answered that they had 'already finished the middle school entrance exams.' This survey analyzes the reality of middle school entrance exams in the Tokyo metropolitan area from the perspective of 'parental involvement', revealing who is the main subject of the exam, typical behaviors of parents during the exam period, regrets, and success experiences.
