There are approximately 3.3 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Japan. Many of them, despite possessing excellent technology and a sincere work ethic, are struggling with two types of gaps.

 

One is the talent gap. Large corporations can establish DX promotion departments and hire dedicated digital personnel. However, SME managers are burdened with the need to study AI on top of managing sales, recruitment, and business decisions all by themselves.

 

The other is the information gap. While information on AI utilization is abundant, it is mostly geared towards large corporations and engineers. There is no one around SMEs who can teach them "AI that can be used immediately for their company's scale and industry.".

 

If left unaddressed, this gap will continue to widen. An irrecoverable difference will emerge between companies that can effectively use AI and those that cannot—I have witnessed this reality for 14 years in the field of web consulting.

What I Realized on a Night When I Lost Everything

I founded my company in 2012 and developed the business with a focus on web production. However, at one point, my long-standing client relationships began to end one after another, and I lost the majority of my sales at once.

 

While I was at a loss, I couldn't stop working. I have a family. I have responsibilities. And above all, the fact that "I know the reality of SMEs" remained unshaken.

 

It was around that time that I encountered AI. As I began to interact with it as a tool, I became convinced. "This can become the first "digital weapon" within reach for SME managers."

 

What large corporations pay millions of yen to consulting firms for, I can deliver to SMEs through AI combined with my own field experience—that conviction is the origin of my current business.

 

I believe I would not have reached this dream without experiencing setbacks.

As "AI Mirai Designer," Plus Movement LLC provides services that support SMEs as an external CAIO (Chief AI Utilization Officer).

We also collaborate with Chambers of Commerce and Industry to create touchpoints with managers in regions where AI information does not typically reach.
