Born in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture in 1963 (Showa 38). Professor at the Faculty of Information Design, Heisei International University, and Professor at the Faculty of Tourism, Takarazuka University of Medical and Health Care. Emeritus Professor at Daito Bunka University. Doctor (Chinese Studies).

After graduating from the Faculty of Literature, Daito Bunka University, he studied at the same university's graduate school and the École Pratique des Hautes Études, Institut des Hautes Études Chinoises in France. After serving as a joint researcher at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Cambridge, and a professor at the Faculty of Literature, Daito Bunka University, he assumed his current position.
