Pixie Dust Technologies installs 'VUEVO Display' in Ishigaki City Hall, the first such deployment in a local government facility in Okinawa

Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. (PxDT) announced the installation of its real-time translation and subtitle display, 'VUEVO Display,' at the general information desk of Ishigaki City Hall, Okinawa Prefecture.

This installation follows the deployment of 10 units across tourist facilities (such as airports and ferry terminals) on Ishigaki Island in July 2025 and marks the first such adoption at a municipal office counter in Okinawa Prefecture. This initiative aims to accelerate the development of 'dialogue infrastructure' across the island and promote administrative digital transformation (DX).

In conjunction with this launch, the company conducted a courtesy visit and joint press conference with Ishigaki City Mayor Yoshitaka Nakayama on June 4, 2026.

Consequently, the company has expanded its installation from tourism facilities to living centers used daily by citizens and the administration. By demonstrating the system at Ishigaki City Hall, the island has taken a step toward becoming an island with 'dialogue infrastructure' accessible to everyone.

'VUEVO Display' translates and converts spoken language into text in real-time, displaying subtitles on both sides of a transparent screen. At Ishigaki City Hall, it has been installed at the 'General Information Desk,' where most citizens pass through. This setup allows counter staff to provide multilingual guidance to tourists, as well as assistance to foreign residents and citizens requiring hearing support, while maintaining eye contact and face-to-face interaction. This improves service convenience and achieves barrier-free administration. This effort is the first of its kind for a municipal window in the Kyushu and Okinawa regions.
