■ Background and Features of this Program

In recent years, companies have been required to address biodiversity and implement nature-positive approaches (concepts aiming for the recovery and regeneration of natural environments), but currently, there is a shortage of personnel and fields capable of engaging in practical efforts.

This program was planned with the objective of nurturing human resources who can practice environmental conservation and create new social value. Its feature is combining field programs in satoyama with online lectures, enabling participants to think about how to solve regional issues and practice/verify them on-site.

■ Program Schedule

This is a program of approximately 4 months, with a total of 7 sessions: 3 online, 3 field sessions, and a final report meeting. In the online lectures, participants will learn about the current state and challenges of forests and satoyama. In the field sessions, they will experience and practice the potential of satoyama, methods for maintenance, management, and conservation, and value creation utilizing natural resources (food, aroma). Afterward, they will create a "My Project Proposal" to shape their own actions and present it at the 7th session (report meeting).

Course staff will support the creation of your "My Project Proposal," so please join us even if you are new to planning for biodiversity or sustainability.
