Comic Learning (https://lp.comiclearning.jp/top), a training service utilizing comic-based materials developed by the Comic Learning Company of Persol Innovation Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Atsuko Semba)—part of the Persol Group, which operates under the vision of "Work, and Smile"—is pleased to announce that it has provided training materials to all employees of Nippon Light Metal Holdings Company, Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Ichiro Okamoto) and its group companies.
This training material focuses on the "prevention of the recurrence of improper quality-related conduct." By depicting past instances of misconduct in an easy-to-understand manga format, the goal is to help each employee understand the background and impact of such misconduct, serving as a catalyst for them to reflect on their own behavior.
Reasons for choosing "Comic Learning" In 2023, the group introduced original comic-based training materials focused on compliance, which received high praise from participants for being "easy to understand" and "memorable."
Regarding the current theme of "preventing the recurrence of improper quality-related conduct," the group faced the challenge that past incidents of misconduct were fading over time, with employees tending to view them as "someone else's problem." There was a need to provide learning that would allow each employee to engage with the issue as their own.
Given this background and the positive results from the previous training, they requested that Comic Learning produce original materials once again. Furthermore, by using a format that is visually accessible and fosters empathy, this initiative is effectively generating dialogue within the workplace and promoting the retention of learning and the permeation of awareness.
Comment from Mr. Jun Ogasawara, Quality Assurance Office, Nippon Light Metal Holdings Company, Ltd. The previous comic-based materials we requested were very well received by employees, with many commenting that the content was easy to understand. Based on that feedback, we decided to implement "Comic Learning" again this time.
Our company faced the challenge that past incidents of misconduct were fading, making it difficult to convey them to employees with a sense of reality. We felt that "Comic Learning" could go beyond treating past cases as mere knowledge by realistically depicting the situations, thereby enabling training that deepens employee understanding. In fact, through careful interviews, they created an original story based on our actual circumstances, resulting in material that accurately conveys the facts while possessing the clarity and empathy unique to manga.
Through this training, I feel that each employee's awareness of taking ownership of these issues has increased, and it has led not only to preventing the fading of past incidents but also to fostering a corporate culture that values honesty.
Implementation Details Implementation Plan: Original Comic Plan Theme: Prevention of the recurrence of improper quality-related conduct Target Audience: All employees, approximately 11,000 people (including group companies)
