Persol Career Co., Ltd. announced that its recruitment service "doda" will hold the "doda Job Fair," its first in-person event in six years, on October 17, 2026, at the Tokyo International Forum. Recruitment for companies wishing to exhibit at the fair will begin today, June 29 (Mon).
Background of the In-Person "doda Job Fair"
The recruitment landscape has changed dramatically in recent years. A 2025 survey by doda*1 revealed that over 70% of companies responded that "current recruitment methods have limitations," indicating a search for new approaches. Furthermore, with soaring recruitment costs, there is a strong demand to address the fundamental issues of "weak motivation building before application" and "dropout during the selection process after application." Amidst this, new challenges have emerged for both job seekers and companies. Job seekers express concerns about the reliability of online information and the desire to "hear from actual employees before deciding to apply." Meanwhile, companies face significant opportunity loss because job descriptions alone cannot fully convey the appeal of their workplace atmosphere or the quality of their staff, with requests such as "we want opportunities to communicate our appeal through direct conversation before applications" being received.
As one effective measure to address these issues, "doda" has decided to hold an in-person job fair for the first time in six years since its last in-person event in 2020. A job fair is one of the few opportunities to meet prospective job seekers before they apply, allowing companies to convey their appeal on an equal footing regardless of size or name recognition. In addition to increasing the intention to apply and proceeding to selection on the spot, it is also characterized by the generation of serendipitous encounters with job seekers who might not have been met through conventional methods.
Through this fair, "doda" aims to support informed decision-making for both companies and job seekers and create new matching opportunities.
