Persol Group Commissioned for Tokyo's Project to Promote the Use of External Talent by Sports Organizations for International Events

Persol Work Switch Consulting Co., Ltd. Furthermore, in promoting this project, 'HiPro,' a comprehensive support service for utilizing professional talent operated by Persol Career Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yutaka Senoo), has been subcontracted to handle the proposal and matching of external talent with expertise tailored to the needs of sports organizations. Persol Work Switch Consulting and Persol Career will work together to provide hands-on support to each sports organization. Background and Challenges Persol Work Switch Consulting and Persol Career believe that inheriting the legacy created by the Tokyo 2020 Games, the World Athletics Championships, the Deaflympics, and others, and attracting and hosting diverse international sports events in Tokyo will significantly contribute to the promotion of sports and the improvement of the city's presence. On the other hand, the biggest challenge after funding for central sports organizations in Japan when hosting international events is the shortage of human resources. For many organizations, it is recognized as a major challenge to secure personnel capable of handling highly specialized tasks unique to international events (event bidding, PR, marketing, securing sponsorships, accounting, etc.) while being busy with their regular duties. Overview of the Project This project is an initiative to match external talent (professional talent) with specialized skills tailored to their needs to sports organizations aiming to bid for or host international sports events, and to provide hands-on support for their practical operations. Persol Work Switch Consulting and Persol Career will alleviate the barriers to hosting events through hands-on support by external talent, rather than mere financial assistance. In addition, it aims to strengthen the independent management foundation (creation of a legacy) by allowing sports organizations themselves to acquire know-how from external talent. Roles and Strengths of the Persol Group In this project, the two companies of the Persol Group will combine their respective strengths to build a solid support system. Persol Work Switch Consulting (Project Lead / Operation Secretariat) - Role: Responsible for managing the progress of the entire project, extracting issues through interviews with sports organizations, and managing and following up on the progress of hands-on support. - Strength: Leveraging extensive project management (PMO) experience in public projects for government agencies, it extracts potential issues that sports organizations themselves have not been able to articulate. In addition, by not leaving everything to specialized talent and having the secretariat intervene and adjust regularly from a third-party perspective, it ensures the continuity of the project and drives the explicit knowledge of know-how. Persol Career 'HiPro' (Professional Talent Matching Collaboration) - Role: Extracting issues through interviews with sports organizations. For the individual challenges of sports organizations, it matches professional talent with high expertise in event bidding, PR, marketing, etc., and is in charge of hands-on support. - Strength: Utilizing a database of professional talent such as side jobs and freelancers, it matches external talent with knowledge in fields such as event management, PR, and marketing according to the situation and challenges of each sports organization.
