Pegasus Tech Ventures (Headquarters: San Jose, California, USA; Founder & CEO: Anis Uzzaman, hereinafter "Pegasus"), a global venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, and CYBERDYNE Inc. (Headquarters: Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan; President & CEO: Yoshiyuki Yamai, hereinafter "CYBERDYNE"), a leader in the cybernetics field that integrates bio-medical systems with AI robotics and information technology, have jointly established a corporate venture capital (CVC) fund with a total capital of 10 billion yen.

Pegasus will serve as the General Partner (GP) managing the fund, while CYBERDYNE will participate as a Limited Partner (LP). The fund will focus on advanced technology areas such as robotics, physical AI, healthcare, automation, and intelligent systems, investing in promising startups worldwide to promote technological development and collaborative business creation.

In recent years, rapid advancements in generative AI have brought significant attention to "Physical AI," where AI controls real-world robots and mechanical systems, emerging as a new growth frontier. Additionally, developed nations such as Japan face pressing societal challenges including aging populations and labor shortages, increasing the demand for a new social infrastructure where humans, AI, and robots work in harmony.

CYBERDYNE is advancing innovative research and real-world implementation using "HCPS Integrated Cybernics with Physical AI" as its core technology, which integrates bio-medical systems with AI robotics and information technology centered on human needs. The company's flagship product, HAL®, functions as a wearable cyborg that enhances, assists, extends, or restores human physical capabilities and is widely utilized both domestically and internationally, primarily in medical and healthcare applications.

This fund has been established to accelerate technological development and business co-creation within the "HCPS Integrated Cybernics with Physical AI" domain championed by CYBERDYNE. By collaborating with promising startups and related industries worldwide, the fund aims to strengthen business strategies, create new business opportunities, and expand operations in global markets.

Comment from Yoshiyuki Yamai, President & CEO of CYBERDYNE Inc.:

"CYBERDYNE is advancing HCPS Integrated Cybernics with Physical AI, striving to create new value through the integration of humans, AI robotics, and information systems. Through this fund, we will strengthen collaborations with innovative technologies and startups worldwide, as well as with related industries, to contribute to solving societal challenges and advancing industrial development. By leveraging Pegasus's global network, we aim to further accelerate technological development, business co-creation, and global expansion."

Comment from Anis Uzzaman, Founder & CEO of Pegasus Tech Ventures:

"We believe robotics and Physical AI will play an extremely important role in addressing future societal challenges. Through this fund, we will connect CYBERDYNE with world-leading entrepreneurs and groundbreaking technologies to support the creation of new industries and real-world implementation."
