■ Background: "Invisible Risks" in Bathroom Renovations of Older Condominiums

Currently, there is a surge in demand for renovating traditional bathrooms to unit baths in condominiums and danchi that are over 40 years old.

However, on the other hand, the following challenges have become apparent on-site:

・The drainage trap is embedded in concrete and does not align with the unit bath's drainage position.

・The connection between the existing iron pipe and the newly installed PVC pipe is unstable.

・Construction involves mortar embedding and adhesive, which carries a high risk of water leakage.

・In the event of water leakage, it can lead to damage to the floor below and issues with management responsibility.

Furthermore, there are cases where unit baths are installed without drainage connections. In such instances, it becomes impossible to perform high-pressure cleaning after renovation, or repairs become difficult even if the waterproof layer is breached.
