PassLogic Begins Single Sign-On Integration with Virtual Desktop Environment "Azure Virtual Desktop"
Passlogy Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange TOKYO PRO Market listed: Securities Code 4426, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Hideharu Ogawa. hereinafter referred to as "our company"), a developer and seller of purely domestic security products with proprietary technology, is pleased to announce that "PassLogic," the multi-factor authentication solution developed and provided by Passlogy, now supports single sign-on integration with "Azure Virtual Desktop" (hereinafter referred to as AVD), the cloud VDI service provided by Microsoft.
This integration enables the application of PassLogic's multi-factor authentication when signing into AVD, thereby strongly protecting access to the cloud-based desktop environment. In a virtual environment where a company's critical assets are consolidated, it offers a new option to enhance "Zero Trust Security" without compromising convenience.
Background of the Integration
With the spread of hybrid work, the demand for desktop virtualization (VDI/DaaS) such as AVD has surged as a means to safely access internal systems and data from outside the company. However, if authentication at the entrance to the virtual environment relies solely on ID and password, the risk of information leakage due to credential stuffing attacks and phishing becomes extremely high. To prevent such damage, the introduction of multi-factor authentication is an important measure. However, organizations that find it difficult to allow the use of personal smartphones for business (BYOD), or IT departments concerned about the risk of losing or stealing physical tokens and the hassle of distribution and collection, have been seeking low-operational-burden multi-factor authentication (MFA).
In response to these challenges, we have established a system that allows for safe and low-cost use of virtual desktops from any environment by integrating AVD, which is easy to build, with PassLogic, which completes authentication solely through a browser.
Overview and Benefits of the Integration
This integration allows for the incorporation of PassLogic's powerful authentication functions through Microsoft Entra ID, the authentication platform for AVD.
PassLogic employs a method of generating one-time passwords using a matrix table with random numbers displayed on a browser, applying "device-less authentication enhancement" to the AVD environment by eliminating the physical constraints of external devices for authentication. This allows organizations where the use of personal smartphones for business is difficult, or those concerned about the risk of device loss or theft, to smoothly implement advanced security.
Furthermore, it supports multi-factor authentication integrated with Intune's device management functions and enhanced sign-in authentication for Windows OS terminals (with offline support), enabling flexible and comprehensive security construction from cloud access to local terminal startup.
Additionally, by utilizing PassLogic's optional feature, PassLogic Bridge - Secondary Authentication for Microsoft 365, it is possible to enhance the authentication of Microsoft Entra ID, the authentication platform, when users access internal systems, school administrative systems, etc., via AVD, thereby providing centralized protection for all access, including various systems.

About Azure Virtual Desktop
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a cloud-based desktop and app virtualization service that runs on Microsoft Azure. It is the only service that supports multi-session connections for Windows 10 and Windows 11, allowing users to safely access a familiar Windows environment from any device. It has high affinity with Microsoft 365 and serves as a foundation supporting corporate DX promotion and hybrid work as a modern VDI solution that combines scalability and robust security.

About PassLogic
PassLogic is a multi-factor authentication solution that supports all three authentication factors: knowledge, possession, and inherence. It offers diverse multi-factor authentication by freely combining nine types of authentication methods, including the matrix-based "PassLogic Authentication." This allows for long-term use by enabling switching of authentication methods according to the situation, even when the environment changes. It supports device-less authentication enhancement for Microsoft 365, as well as SSO integration, SASE/SSE/VPN, and enhanced authentication for Windows OS terminals.
