Pasona Heartful to Showcase Creative Activities of Artists with Disabilities: "Art Village Exhibition ~ Makoto Nakagaki Solo Exhibition ~" to be Held in Minami Aoyama from May 12

Pasona Heartful Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Chairperson and CEO Junko Fukazawa), a special subsidiary of Pasona Group Inc., will hold the "Art Village Exhibition ~ Makoto Nakagaki Solo Exhibition ~" at "Annex Aoyama," an information dissemination space in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, from May 12 (Tuesday) to May 17 (Sunday) as part of its efforts to promote the creative activities of artists with disabilities. The exhibition will feature 20 paintings by Makoto Nakagaki.

Pasona Heartful established "Art Village" in 1992 with the concept of "talent knows no disability," aiming to expand employment fields for people with disabilities who have difficulty finding work, through "art" (artistic activities). Since 2004, the company has employed "artist employees" whose work is to draw, and currently, 23 individuals are engaged in creating unique and vibrant works.

In recent years, the company has been creating opportunities for individual artist employees to present their works through solo and themed exhibitions. This time, the exhibition focuses on the charm of Makoto Nakagaki's paintings. Nakagaki's works are characterized by colorful and impressive expressions combining patterns, and realistic texture expressions created with skillful brushwork.

Makoto Nakagaki Profile

Name: Makoto Nakagaki Disability: Intellectual disability

Biography Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1988. Joined Pasona Heartful Inc. in 2007, initially working in a bakery. In 2015, inspired by bird paintings, she began working as a full-time artist employee, and has since participated in exhibitions. Her activities are expanding, including the sale of products featuring her ammonite-themed work at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.

Comment from the Artist I have loved drawing since I was little. As an artist employee, I spend fulfilling time being able to draw as part of my job. I will continue to strive to draw many more wonderful works.
