▲Scene from last year's "Rice Planting Experience"

At "Yume Farm" (Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture), which Pasona Heartful operates with the aim of supporting the independence and employment creation for people with disabilities in the agricultural sector, employees with intellectual disabilities cultivate agricultural products, mainly rice. They also assist nearby farmers struggling with labor shortages and cultivate agricultural products with high school students from local horticulture departments, deepening exchanges with local communities.

This "Rice Farming Experience Event" will offer hands-on rice planting in paddy fields cooperating with "Yume Farm." This year, for the first time, strawberry picking will also be held at "Yume Farm." Through rice planting and harvesting experiences, the event aims to create opportunities for employees with disabilities and local residents to engage with agriculture together and deepen mutual understanding.

Furthermore, a portion of the rice harvested from this experience will be donated to food pantries in Tokyo through volunteer organizations, contributing to food support.

Through this initiative, Pasona Heartful aims to showcase the success/active participation of employees with disabilities working by utilizing their talents and abilities, and to support families struggling with poverty.

## Initiatives of "Yume Farm"

Established in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture in 2006, and Nagareyama City in 2009, with the aim of supporting the independence of people with disabilities in the agricultural sector and providing new employment opportunities, in cooperation with social welfare corporations and special needs schools. In 2013, it was entrusted by Soka City with the designated management of the Soka City Farm for Employment Training for Persons with Disabilities.

Members with severe disabilities who find it difficult to work in office environments aim to become "agricultural professionals" by cultivating vegetables, rice, and fruits with the support of agricultural experts. Approximately 50 types of vegetables harvested from these farms are sold internally and online (https://art-mura-onlineshop.com/).
