Exhibition Content
In 1966, "Ultraman" was created by Tsuburaya Productions, led by Eiji Tsuburaya, known as the "God of Tokusatsu." Since its debut, the series has transcended being just a TV show, becoming a foundational visual culture and imaginative landscape in Japan, passed down across generations.
"SHUWATCH with U" features 12 artists from Japan and abroad who reinterpret "Ultraman" through their individual perspectives and styles. Through diverse works including paintings, sculptures, and fashion, the exhibition creates a space where childhood memories of heroes and monsters intersect with contemporary artistic expression.

【Artists' Statements】
—Roby Dwi Antono
"This work is a small altar dedicated to my childhood memories of Ultraman. He was not merely a 'hero I watched,' but a presence like light that quietly shaped my imagination."
—Ryunosuke Okazaki
"My admiration for Ultraman does not end as mere nostalgia. The gestures absorbed through childhood play continue to repeat in my creative process. I wish to treat this repetition not as simple nostalgia, but as a time in which prayer continues."
—Vance Yuan
"When we were young, we didn’t truly have the power to change the world. Yet, we innocently believed we could protect it. Ultraman was never just a character fighting monsters. He was a presence who gave children watching on TV the courage to take a step forward and the strength of heart."
