Ikebukuro PARCO will host the collaboration project 'ULTRA SUMMER in IKEBUKURO' with Tsuburaya Productions' hero series 'Ultraman Series,' which celebrates its 60th anniversary in July 2026, starting from Friday, July 3, 2026.

This project will feature a newly illustrated key visual by artist 'TAPPEI,' along with an 'ULTRAMAN LIMITED POP UP SHOP' offering original apparel commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman series and collaboration T-shirts from 'TAPPEI' × Ikebukuro PARCO. Additionally, various initiatives tied to Ultraman's 60th anniversary will be held, including the 'ULTRA SUMMER CHANCE' lottery event, where participants can win rare items such as limited Ultraman goods, and a restaurant and café event where visitors can receive stickers featuring the original key visual by 'TAPPEI.'

Furthermore, the 'SHUWATCH with U' special exhibition will also run concurrently at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO (4F, Shibuya PARCO).

About the Ultraman Series

The 'Ultraman Series' began with the broadcast of 'Ultra Q' and 'Ultraman' in 1966 and has been beloved across generations for 60 years. the Ultraman Series has moved people's hearts through its works.

This spirit aligns with Ikebukuro PARCO's own mission of continuously communicating culture through creativity.

Tsuburaya Productions and Ikebukuro PARCO, both of which have consistently believed in the power of creativity and challenged their respective fields of expression across eras and borders,

will jointly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman Series through the 'ULTRA SUMMER' campaign.

VISUAL DESIGN

For this campaign's visual, we have collaborated with artist 'TAPPEI,' with whom we have co-created in the past through solo exhibitions at PARCO. Using TAPPEI's unique worldview and pen strokes, the visual features a blue sky and clouds—something anyone might gaze upon and imagine—depicting a fantastical Ultraman.

TAPPEI's Comment

Ultraman, a hero that everyone has probably admired—I am one of them.

As a child, I repeatedly tried to fire the Specium Ray. I thought I was doing it, but since no one fell down, I probably wasn't actually doing it.

This time, I was able to 'fire' the ray in this form, fulfilling another dream. Thinking about it, I believe anyone can become Ultraman in their own way. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.

TAPPEI

Artist, Tattoo Artist, Graphic Designer

Born in 1993 in Osaka Prefecture. Developed an interest in drawing and tattoos from a young age and continued creating art. Dropped out of the Art and Craft Department at Kobe Design University and began working as a tattoo artist, viewing skin as part of the canvas.

Later established 'TAPPEI ROOM,' a tattoo studio and office in Nakameguro. In 2022, announced collaborations with brands such as NIKE, UNDERCOVER, and BEAMS. In 2023, began his first international guest tattoo work and started a four-panel manga series in the culture magazine 'EYESCREAM.' Continues to treat canvases, his own body, human skin, printed media, and clothing as spaces for self-expression.

PARCO's First-Ever Pop-Up: 'ULTRAMAN LIMITED POP UP SHOP With MONSTROUSA'

A pop-up shop operated by 'MONSTROUSA,' a fashion brand from Kichijoji, will make its debut at PARCO, offering a wide selection of high-art, fashion-forward items that further highlight the appeal of the Ultraman series. Numerous newly illustrated artist collaboration goods created specifically for this event will be available. While past collaborations often focused on 'Ultraman kaiju (monsters),' designs centered on 'Ultraman heroes' will be a dream come true for fans. Additionally, the popular 'LIVE PRINT' event will be held, allowing visitors to enjoy live demonstrations of Ultraman and kaiju designs being printed directly onto T-shirts in-store.
