Sendai PARCO will hold the first-ever art exhibition “OUTDOOR MONSTER 1st ART EXHIBITION —DRIP NATURE—” from Saturday, May 16 to Sunday, May 24. The exhibition commemorates the 15th anniversary of OUTDOOR MONSTER, a character series created by the design unit Lock, known for its collaborations with numerous outdoor brands across camping gear, apparel, and more. The series has built an enthusiastic fan base, and this will be its first dedicated art exhibition. Like coffee carefully dripped from nature, the OUTDOOR MONSTER characters are presented as beings extracted from the natural world. The exhibition offers a new art experience that “drips” nature into an urban commercial space. The venue will feature the first exhibition and sale of newly drawn original artworks, along with a wide range of venue-exclusive goods created for the event. Rare archive items from past collaborations with well-known brands such as Rivers and BE@RBRICK will also be displayed together. A special edition of the popular live-printing event “Suri Suri-kai” will be held on May 16, 17, 23, and 24. Visitors can bring a favorite item and have an OUTDOOR MONSTER printed on it on the spot. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., limited to the first 24 groups per day by ticket distribution, ending once tickets run out. Each group is allotted 15 minutes. Participation requires a same-day purchase at the venue, with no minimum spending requirement. OUTDOOR MONSTER is a series developed around the concept of “connecting people and nature.” By breathing life into natural phenomena and everyday things, the series aims to make daily life a little more enjoyable, encourage gratitude toward various objects and experiences, and inspire people to be a little kinder to one another. Each monster has its own name and detailed ecology, creating as many stories as there are monsters. The world of OUTDOOR MONSTER has attracted fans in Japan and overseas, and the number of monsters now approaches 300. Beyond the outdoor industry, OUTDOOR MONSTER has developed a wide range of collaborations with domestic and international brands, companies, and local governments that resonate with its philosophy. Major tie-ups include OM SYSTEM (Olympus), Oga Aquarium, ZOZOTOWN, and Shichikashuku Town in Miyagi Prefecture. Event details: The exhibition will be held at Sendai PARCO1, 4F Atrium Event Space, 1-2-3 Chuo, Aoba-ku, Sendai, Miyagi. Dates are May 16 to May 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free. The event is hosted by Sendai PARCO, planned and produced by PILE, with cooperation from outdoor design unit Lock.
