Easily Request Cost Estimates with Your Smartphone: "Photo de AI Sekisan" Service Launched

Panasonic Housing Solutions Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Masashi Yamada, Head Office: Kadoma City, Osaka; hereinafter, the Company) has launched the "Photo de AI Sekisan" (AI Cost Estimation from Photos) service from April 1, 2026, coinciding with the start of orders for its New VERITIS products. This service allows users to easily perform cost estimation simply by taking a photo of a drawing with a smartphone.

Background

The business processes in the construction industry, through the value chain of cost estimation, proposal creation, design, delivery, and construction, require a certain level of skill and experience. In particular, estimating for building material products is difficult to standardize as the required quantity changes each time depending on the housing plan, such as the number and size of rooms and the shape of the rooms. To solve this issue, the Company added the "Floor Plan AI Cost Estimation" function from April 2024.

This function has been utilized to meet the ever-increasing needs for shortening estimation work time, in response to the overtime work cap regulations implemented by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare from April 2024, and the strengthening of the obligation to include a breakdown of construction costs in documents under the revised Construction Business Act, enforced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism from December 2025. However, there was an issue that using the "Floor Plan AI Cost Estimation" function required operation on a PC with granted usage rights, limiting the number of users who could access it.

Service Overview

To make the AI-based estimation function available to more people, we have now launched the "Photo de AI Sekisan" service, which can be downloaded from smartphone app stores. It has been available on app stores since April 1, 2026, to coincide with the start of orders for New VERITIS. The operation after downloading consists of five steps. After taking a photo of the floor plan with a smartphone, the user crops the drawing, inputs the scale and property name, and the request is complete. A rough estimate will be delivered to the specified email address in about 5 minutes (*1). Since estimate requests can be made via smartphone, it contributes to time savings, for example, when a sales representative receives an estimate request during a client visit. Furthermore, it can be linked with the existing estimation system (WEB HOWS) equipped with the "Floor Plan AI Cost Estimation" function, allowing the estimate details to be imported for modification and changes (*2). By using "Photo de AI Sekisan" for a rough estimate, and then having the estimation staff check and make corrections in the conventional system, it also contributes to the efficient operation of estimation work.

To create a sustainable and prosperous society, the Company will continue to work on improving business efficiency by expanding and evolving the scope of the "Photo de AI Sekisan" service.
