Chiba Prefecture's First Municipal Partnership Signed: SAKURA CITY and PAL SYSTEM CHIBA Collaborate on Child-Rearing Support

PAL SYSTEM CHIBA (Headquarters: Nakacho, Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture; Chairperson: Yumiko Takahashi) and Sakura City (Mayor: Sanju Nishida) held a signing ceremony on June 5 (Friday) at Sakura City Hall for a partnership agreement on child-rearing support. Under the agreement, families with young children who apply will receive a curated gift box called 'Omedetobako' containing practical parenting items. This collaboration between local government and a consumer cooperative aims to create an environment where residents can raise children with confidence and ensure all children grow up healthy and strong.

Expectations for Diverse Community Collaboration

At the signing ceremony, Mayor Nishida stated, 'We aim to make Sakura City a place where residents genuinely feel, 'If you want your children to grow up freely and joyfully, choose Sakura City.' With support from businesses, we will enhance the quality of child-rearing support and further develop community-based initiatives.' Yumiko Takahashi, Chairperson of PAL SYSTEM CHIBA, expressed her commitment: 'We will support parenting in Sakura City through various forms of collaboration. We will continue advancing initiatives that enable everyone to live a fulfilling life.'

Baby Soap, Wipes, and Food Items to Support Weaning

Under the agreement, Sakura City will distribute informational cards about the 'Omedetobako' gift set during its 'Hello, Baby' home visitation program, which targets all households with infants up to four months old. Families who wish to receive the set can apply, and PAL SYSTEM will deliver baby wipes, baby soap, dashi packs useful for preparing weaning food, tuna flakes, and other items free of charge through its home delivery service.
