Obirin University to Host Children's Workshop: Learn About Microplastics on Sunday, June 28

Pal System Consumers' Cooperative Union (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Okubo, Chairman: Atsuyuki Shibusawa) will participate in the "Shinjuku Future Map EXPO 2026" to be held at Obirin University Shinjuku Campus in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, on Sunday, June 28, 2026. We will conduct a workshop for local children visiting the venue on the theme of microplastics to encourage them to think about environmental issues.

Where does discarded plastic waste go?

At the Pal System booth, we will prepare videos and sand actually collected from beaches to explain how discarded plastics reach the sea. Participants will receive soap, which Pal System promotes for everyday environmental consideration.

The Pal System booth will be located in classroom J207 on the second floor. The experience will last approximately 40 minutes and will be held once every hour.

An experience to remember for 10 years

"Shinjuku Future Map EXPO" is an experiential event aimed at enabling children in the Shinjuku area to draw their own "future maps" together with the community, university, companies, and organizations. It is being held for the first time, co-organized by Obirin University's community collaboration volunteer group "unite" and Waseda University's "Atom Currency Executive Committee."

With the concept of "An experience to remember for 10 years for children!", 20 organizations including universities, companies, and NPOs will participate. The venue will feature workshops such as a paper airplane class by an airline company and a makeup experience by a cosmetics manufacturer, as well as experiential and exhibition booths and food trucks.
