Call for Entries: Yokohama Children's Art Exhibition 2026 – A Summer Tradition

The "Yokohama Children's Art Exhibition" returns this summer to nurture children's creative expression and free imagination. Having celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, this exhibition has become a beloved tradition spanning multiple generations.

This year marks a new beginning with the theme "Nice to Meet You."

The highlight of the exhibition is the vast collection of free-spirited works by children. Approximately 1,500 paintings typically fill three floors of the gallery. We are now inviting children to submit their artwork for this year's event.

All submitted works will be exhibited without a screening process. We look forward to receiving many entries.

[Submission Guidelines]
- Eligibility: Children aged 0–12 living or studying in Yokohama.
- Requirements: One painting per person (any subject/technique). Size: 38x54cm (Standard 4-切り size), vertical or horizontal.
*Smaller works must be mounted on a 38x54cm backing sheet.
- Creative Tip: Draw something that makes you excited, such as a first-time experience or something you saw for the first time. Free themes are also welcome.
- How to Apply: Hand-deliver to the 4th-floor atelier of the Yokohama Civic Art Gallery during the submission period. Entry is free.
- Submission Period: July 2 (Thu) – July 4 (Sat), 2026, 10:30–16:00.
- Work Return: July 30 (Thu) – August 2 (Sun), 10:30–17:30 (In-person or via Yu-Pack cash-on-delivery).
- Participation Prize: A special commemorative badge for all participants.

- Dates: July 17 (Fri) – July 26 (Sun), 2026 (Open daily for 10 days).
- Hours: 10:00–17:00 (Admission until 16:30); Starts at 13:00 on the first day.
- Venue: Yokohama Civic Art Gallery (10 min walk from Sakuragicho Station).
- Admission: Free.
