OWB Corporation (Location: Odaka Ward, Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture; Representative Director: Tomoyuki Wada) will open "Odaka no Hirugohan," a ramen shop reviving the beloved Chinese noodles of Odaka Ward, on July 7, 2026. The ramen development was supported by "Ippudo," a popular ramen chain with a nationwide presence, recreating the taste once cherished by the local community.
"Odaka no Hirugohan" inherits the name of the former restaurant of the same name, which sadly closed its doors in March 2016. By reviving both the local favorite ramen and the shop name, which was active in community revitalization efforts even before the lifting of the evacuation order, the aim is to connect Odaka Ward's culinary history and foster new vitality and foot traffic in the area.
The ramen shop's reopening also features a new logo.
The Chinese noodles offered this time are based on the concept of a nostalgic and comforting, old-fashioned bowl. The dish, with its clear soup and simple toppings, is designed to evoke memories for those who knew it before and allow first-time visitors to experience the "essence of Odaka." The Ippudo development team meticulously incorporated the memories and anecdotes of the people of Odaka into the recipe, aiming for an experience that is both nostalgic and new.
Through the opening of this establishment, our company aims to increase places where local residents can casually enjoy meals and to create opportunities for people from outside Odaka Ward to visit. By layering the memories of the former restaurant and new stories yet to be told onto this everyday bowl of ramen, we will paint a picture of "Odaka's Future" beyond reconstruction.
Moving forward, we will consider menu development based on customer feedback and reactions after opening, and aim to improve overall mobility within Odaka Ward.
