The Osaka Prefectural Housing Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Ryuichi Yoshimoto; hereinafter referred to as "the Corporation"), which provides public rental housing SMALIO in Osaka Prefecture, announces that it will hold a one-day event, the "7・16 Building Marche ~A Small Culture Festival on Chayama Hill~," at Chayamadai Danchi (Minami-ku, Sakai City) in Semboku New Town on Saturday, May 16, 2026, created together with residents and partner businesses involved in community support projects. This time, the 7th building community hall, which opened last year as a third place for the working generation, will be newly added, and the event will be held simultaneously in two areas: around the 7th building and the 16th building. On the day of the event, businesses from the new town area and residents of the housing complex themselves will set up stalls, creating a special one-day space.

■ A local cultural event born from "Danchi Regeneration" that attracts many local residents

At Chayamadai Danchi, efforts have been made since 2015 to regenerate the housing complex, developing multiple community hubs utilizing vacant rooms. As a result of these long-term efforts, the vacancy rate has significantly improved, and the number of new young residents has increased.

This "16th Building Marche" was born out of these initiatives. Starting in 2020, this event, now in its 7th year, has grown to attract many local residents every year.

It is a resident-participation small culture festival that aims to foster connections within and outside the housing complex, promote intergenerational exchange in the community, and create new attractions.

This year, the event will be held at the 7th and 16th buildings, expanding its scale. The 7th building will be the food area, and the 16th building will be for other areas, making it an event that can be enjoyed throughout the entire housing complex.

■ A day packed with "Eating, Buying, Learning, and Experiencing"

A one-day Marche held with the residents of Chayamadai, at the usually less-trafficked area around the 16th building and the 7th building community hall, which was renovated and opened last year, serving as community hubs for Chayamadai Danchi: "Chayamadai Library," "Yamawake Kitchen," and "DIY House." This 7・16 Building Marche offers a market, drinks, food, music, experiences, health checks, conversations, relaxation, and laughter. It is packed with diverse content such as food and general goods sales, workshops, and health checks.
