Artist Masaya Nakayama, a graduate of Osaka University of Arts' Department of Fine Arts, designs a school bus!

Osaka University of Arts (Location: Minamikawachi District, Osaka Prefecture / President: Kunihiko Tsukamoto) has been operating a school bus designed by Mr. Masaya Nakayama, a graduate of the Osaka University of Arts, Department of Fine Arts, and an artist based in New York, since Friday, March 13, 2026. The university collaborates with various artists each year to design its school buses. This time, the design was created by Mr. Masaya Nakayama, who also drew the cover for the Osaka University of Arts 2026 guide. The wrapped bus is beautifully and charmingly depicted with random, colorful stickers like those found all over the streets of New York, where Mr. Nakayama currently lives. Regarding the project, Mr. Nakayama expressed his thoughts and expectations for the students, stating, "I hope that the overlapping daily lives of each student who uses this bus will create a unique balance and become irreplaceable memories." The school bus operates between Kintetsu Kishi Station and the university campus, so please be sure to take a look. ■ About Mr. Masaya Nakayama: Born in Osaka. Graduated from the Osaka University of Arts, Department of Fine Arts. After experiencing the educational field as a teacher at a public junior high school in Osaka, he moved to the United States in 2012. He is currently based in Brooklyn, New York, as a contemporary artist, exhibiting his work in galleries, museums, and art fairs both in Japan and internationally. He recently gained attention for a large-scale collaboration connecting New York and Tokyo with the Brooklyn Brewery, a well-known pioneer of craft beer. He is also a member of the artist collective "Kopers," which is based on the theme "For the children."
