Osaka Art & Design (OAD) started in 2023, and last year saw the participation of 760 creators. Works were exhibited across 65 venues, bustling with over 680,000 visitors. This year, we continue to move forward so that people can feel the dawn of a new era of art and design in Osaka.
OAD aims to broadcast the abundant creative charm of Osaka to the world and revitalize the art and design scene in the Kansai region. Through this event, we nurture encounters and exchanges between people and artworks, people and people, and artworks and artworks, fostering the new values that emerge from them. What we envision is a future where the Creative City Osaka achieves even further development.

Following 'Resonance' in 2024 and 'Overlap' in 2025, we are taking acts of expression one step further and unleashing them. In 2025, the year of the Expo, various information from around the world gathered in Osaka all at once. By digesting the experiences and inspiration gained there, we create them as our own expressions. This, in turn, becomes the source of someone else's imagination, expanding infinitely.
As a fertile ground that gives birth to creation and imagination, we will appeal to the world as an entity bearing the future of creation.
Program
The Hankyu Umeda Main Store 1st Floor Concourse Window will be designed by Yuichi Hirako, a contemporary artist garnering attention both domestically and internationally. In addition to displaying large-scale works at the 9th Floor Shukusai Plaza, a group exhibition curated by Yuichi Hirako will be held at the Hankyu Umeda Gallery and Art Stage.
Furthermore, at the Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store, which is celebrating its 300th anniversary, prominent creators such as Seitaro Kuroda, Kazuyoshi Saeki, SHIRACO WORLD, and Kohei Yamashita will compete with works themed around the 'Phoenix.'
