Ororo Inc. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Atsushi Kawata; hereinafter referred to as "Ororo") is pleased to announce that its group company, Ororo Miyazaki Inc. (Headquarters: Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture; President: Hiroaki Kubota; hereinafter referred to as "Ororo Miyazaki"), has been certified as a "child-rearing support company" by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare under the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Next-generation Child-Rearing (hereinafter referred to as the "Next-generation Act").

This marks the third consecutive "Kurumin" certification for Ororo Miyazaki, following those received in 2021 and 2023, with the next certification due in 2026.

Ororo Miyazaki has positioned "building an environment that makes it easy to balance work and childcare" as a key issue and has continuously strived to improve its environment. The following initiatives were primarily evaluated for this certification:

Key Initiatives

Introduction of the "Core Life" Childcare Support Work System:

This system enables remote work during a portion of prescribed working hours, realizing flexible working styles. For employees with children in elementary school or younger, the core time (when employees must be present) is set from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Outside of these hours, employees can flexibly choose their work location (office or home) and working hours, providing stronger support for balancing family and childcare.

Digitalization and Strengthening of Consultation System:

In addition to the traditional parental leave consultation desk, a new "AI Assistant Consultation Desk" has been established to provide 24-hour support. This is being thoroughly communicated throughout the company using internal SNS and other platforms.

Through these initiatives, we have achieved a smooth return to work after pre- and post-natal leave and childcare leave, and fostered a workplace environment where employees can continue to work with peace of mind. Receiving this certification for the third time is proof that these flexible, era-appropriate support systems have deeply permeated the company, allowing employees to continue practicing their own unique ways of working.

Evolution (Step-up) of Childcare Support System Supporting Three "Kurumin" Certifications

Ororo Miyazaki has continuously expanded its systems in line with changes in employees' life stages. The following outlines its progress in updating its systems in line with the times, in accordance with the "General Employer Action Plan" formulated in multi-year increments:

【1st Time】2021 Certification (Action Plan Period: 2018-2020): "Building the Foundation" for Work-Life Balance Thorough reduction of overtime work and promotion of annual paid leave acquisition (including the introduction of alert emails). Started fostering a culture where male employees can easily utilize various systems such as childcare leave, using internal bulletin boards.

【2nd Time】2023 Certification (Action Plan Period: 2021-2022): "Expanding the Scope" and Consciousness Reform In addition to implementing "No Overtime Days," training was provided to managers (leaders) to further promote the use of systems by men. Furthermore, the scope of various support systems was significantly expanded to "elementary school sixth grade and younger," exceeding legal standards, establishing a long-term support system.

【3rd Time (Current)】2026 Certification (Action Plan Period: 2023-2025): "Establishing and Improving" Excellent Work-Life Balance Support Environment In addition to the initiatives and environment such as the "Core Life" Childcare Support Work System deeply taking root as a corporate culture and being maintained at a high level, a 24-hour "AI Assistant Consultation Desk" was newly established as a new initiative. The strengthening of the digital system, allowing for easy consultations regarding childcare leave and return to work regardless of time or location, was evaluated, leading to the third certification.

Ororo Miyazaki will continue to promote the realization of work-life balance for its employees and actively work to create a workplace environment where they can build long and secure careers while being supported through various life events.

What is "Kurumin" Certification?

This is a system that certifies companies as child-rearing support companies that meet certain requirements, such as formulating and implementing an action plan for employees to balance work and childcare, based on the Next-generation Act.
