【Cross Life Hakata Yanagibashi】Launch of 'Hagihara Olive' Aroma Products Infused with Nature from Kurume at the Lobby! Communicating the Scent Born from Natural Farming

Cross Life Hakata Yanagibashi, a third place that connects with the region and allows travelers to be themselves, is collaborating with Hagihara Olive, an olive farm in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture. They are selling original aroma products made from naturally farmed herbs in the first-floor lobby.

This project is part of Cross Life Hakata Yanagibashi's regional collaboration initiative, which aims to promote new attractions in Fukuoka and create new value together.

Hagihara Olive, located in the nature-rich town of Kusano, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, uses herbs grown through natural farming methods that minimize the use of pesticides and enhance the crops' immunity. They offer various original products.

For this collaboration, two products were selected that are distilled at Hagihara Olive's own distillery, preserving the natural scent of plants. These products bring comfort and a pleasant feeling during your travels, showcasing the rich natural environment of Kurume.

From products using scents extracted through self-distillation of self-cultivated herbs and aromatic woods, we sell 'Roll-On Aromas' (total of 5 types) that allow you to enjoy scents anywhere with ease, and 'Scented Japanese Paper' (total of 2 types) that allow you to enjoy Japanese sensibilities by wrapping scents in Japanese paper.

Hagihara Olive is a farm that cultivates olives and herbs in the nature-rich environment of Kusano Town, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

In 2022, they established their own distillery and began offering aroma products that highlight the natural scent of plants.

Based on the philosophy of 'adding nothing and subtracting nothing from the plant's original components,' they carefully create each scent.

As a parallel project, we also sell small items from Hakata Ori manufacturer Iinoue Kinweaving Co., Ltd., which celebrates its 67th anniversary this year.

Cross Life Hakata Yanagibashi is located adjacent to the Yanagibashi United Market, the kitchen of Hakata, and in a convenient location for the Tenjin and Hakata areas. On the other hand, it is in a town where the emotional Japanese alleys are preserved and new culture such as young artist galleries are fused, creating a 'town that is fun to walk in.' The artworks and designs inside the facility incorporate the characteristics of the region where tradition and modern culture coexist. The facade (exterior) is based on Hakata Ori, a traditional craft designated by the country, and the ceiling structure is based on Oogawa Kumiko, a delicate craft with a history of about 300 years. Traditional small stone original kiln works from Fukuoka are used as guides for floor numbers and room numbers. The original small stone original kiln works are created by 13 kilns, each with different designs and tastes, allowing you to see the thoughts put into the works by the creators.
