Hakone Retreat Före & Villa 1/f, a forest resort hotel nestled in the rich nature of Sengokuhara, Hakone (location: Sengokuhara, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture), will be offering an accommodation plan with free-flow wine from May 11 (Monday) to September 30 (Wednesday), 2026. This plan allows guests to experience the changing expressions of the forest from early summer's fresh greenery to full summer, accompanied by New Zealand's representative winery "Cloudy Bay" wines in a free-flow style. It proposes a luxurious time that harmonizes with the tranquility and natural ambiance unique to Hakone's forest resort.

Hakone Sengokuhara, where our facility is located, is a highland area with an elevation of approximately 600-660m. Meteorologically, the temperature is said to drop by about 0.6℃ for every 100m increase in altitude, blessed with a climate that is about 4℃ cooler than urban areas even during the day. Especially in the evening, the wind blowing through the forest, the soft sunlight filtering through the trees, and the chirping of insects quietly overlap, allowing guests to experience a "cool evening unique to the highlands" that feels as if mind and body are gently unwinding.

While Hakone is strongly associated with hot springs, its recognition as a "summer destination for enjoying coolness" is not yet widely spread. Therefore, from our location in Sengokuhara, which benefits from its altitude, we aim to convey a new appeal: "Hakone, a hidden gem for summer retreats."

In this plan, "Cloudy Bay" wines, representing New Zealand, will be offered from check-in at 15:00 until 22:00, seamlessly integrating into the flow of the stay. A unique charm of this plan is the freedom to stroll through the facility and its grounds with a wine glass in hand, enjoying the wine wherever one desires. From relaxing times at "free bird & terrace" and "cafe & lounge," to enjoying wood-fired cuisine at "WOODSIDE dining," or dinner at the Japanese restaurant "Tawaraishi," wine quietly accompanies guests from afternoon to post-meal, changing with the scene. Benches and seating areas are scattered throughout the grounds, allowing guests to spend leisurely time according to their own feelings, whether admiring the forest, engaging in conversation, or quietly enjoying solitude.

With the cool highland climate and the tranquility of the forest surrounding the time spent, the wine quietly accompanying deepens the value of the stay itself. This plan is also an an attempt to redefine Hakone's summer as a "stay to savor coolness."
