Oricon Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Naoya Sato; Abbreviation: Oricon) announced on July 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM, usage data collected from 6,312 individuals who participated in the 'Internet Banking' satisfaction ranking survey released in June by its group company, oricon ME Inc. The survey was conducted by oricon ME Inc. from the perspective of a third party, targeting actual service users.
In commemoration of "Bank Day" on July 1st, we are introducing the survey results regarding 'Internet Banking'.
In recent years, the digitalization of banking services has advanced, and transactions using smartphones and apps have become commonplace. Therefore, this survey investigated the usage status of internet banking and the utilization of bank apps.

Reasons for wanting to use internet banking services (Oricon Customer Satisfaction Survey)
"Because I don't have to go to a branch, counter, or ATM" cited by 1 in 2 people; "lower fees" and other financial benefits also cited as reasons for use.
When asked about the "reasons for wanting to use internet banking services (multiple responses)" among 6,312 users who log in to internet banking once a month or more, "Because I don't have to go to a branch, counter, or ATM" was the most common reason at 50.4%.
This was followed by "Because I can use it 24 hours a day" (45.5%), "Because the fees are low" (37.2%), and "Because I already had an account" (30.0%).
This suggests that many people use the service due to its high convenience, such as being able to use it without visiting a branch or ATM and being able to conduct transactions regardless of the time.
Additionally, some users cited financial benefits as reasons for use, such as "Because the fees are low (37.2%)" and "Because the deposit interest rates are high (7.4%)".

"Transfers/Remittances" most common at 55.1%; usage expanding to daily life scenes such as utility payments and online payments.
When asked about "services used with internet banking (excluding ordinary deposits and ATM usage) (multiple responses)", "Transfers/Remittances (including overseas remittances)" was the most common at 55.1%.
This was followed by "Account information inquiry/statement confirmation" (48.5%), "Account transfers" (34.0%), "Fixed deposits" (30.7%), and "Salary deposits" (27.5%).
In addition to transactions such as transfers and remittances, the service is used for a wide range of purposes including daily account management such as balance and statement confirmation, fixed deposits, and salary deposits.
Furthermore, "Payment of various public utilities" (22.4%) and "Payments for online shopping, etc." (21.3%) exceeded 20%, indicating that internet banking is being utilized as a familiar financial service in daily life.

"Credit cards" most common at 27.6%; code payment apps also used by about 20%
When asked "Are there any services linked with internet banking services (multiple responses)?", among users who have linked services, "Credit cards" were the most common at 27.6%.
This was followed by "Code payment apps" (16.7%). Among code payment apps, PayPay was the most common (14.2%), followed by Rakuten Pay (4.1%), FamiPay (2.2%), Merpay (1.8%), and au PAY (1.2%).
Additionally, a certain number of users utilize "Prepaid e-money (8.5%)" such as nanaco and WAON, "Carrier payments (8.2%)", and "Transportation IC cards (6.7%)". This indicates that various payment services are linked with internet banking, primarily credit cards and code payment apps.

However, internet banking services from online-only banks, credit unions, credit cooperatives, and labor credit associations are excluded.
