We want to convey the charm and value of 'agriculture' to more people. With this thought, we will be holding the 'Grass Day Photo Contest' again this year.
The theme, continuing from last year, is '"Agriculture" is good'. From Friday, April 17 to Sunday, June 28, 2026, anyone can apply. Winning entries are scheduled to be announced on the special website on September 3, which is Grass Day.
What is the Grass Day Photo Contest?
The 'Grass Day Photo Contest' has been held every year since 2018 to commemorate 'Grass Day (September 3)', an anniversary established by our company. We have received numerous applications from all over the country so far, and the winning entries are utilized for desktop calendars, online meeting backgrounds, and covers of product catalogs.
While the farming population is decreasing year by year and opportunities to experience agriculture and nature are diminishing, there are still many touching agricultural landscapes and activities remaining in Japan. 'I don't have time to experience farming', 'I haven't seen fields recently'—we are holding this contest with the hope that even these people will notice the warmth of 'agriculture' and the charm of Japanese agricultural landscapes through photographs.
September 3 is 'Grass Day'
'Grass Day' is an anniversary registered with the Japan Anniversary Association by Orec in 2016. Grass becomes nutrients for microorganisms living in the soil and plays many roles, such as soil improvement. We conduct various initiatives every year with the aim of having more people know about the existence and value of this 'grass'.
