Tokyo — March 30, 2026
Oracle Japan (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tomomitsu Misawa) announced today that Daito Kentaku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kei Takeuchi) has begun migrating approximately 40 database foundations, which support over 60 core business systems including accounting, sales support, and internal portals, to "Oracle Exadata Database Service" on "Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer." This project is expected to reduce construction costs by approximately 25 percent and operational costs by approximately 32 percent compared to a traditional on-premises upgrade, while also achieving improved infrastructure availability and significantly faster processing speeds.
Daito Kentaku develops real estate-related businesses centered on the construction, management, and brokerage of rental housing, and holds the top industry position with approximately 1.3 million managed rental housing units*. The company previously operated "Oracle AI Database" distributed across numerous servers in its data center, utilizing it as the database foundation for core operations used by over 18,000 group employees, such as accounting systems, sales support, and internal portals. However, the company faced significant challenges, including aging hardware, the increasing burden of maintaining and operating multiple databases individually, and the need to optimize license costs. Furthermore, there was a requirement to modernize the infrastructure to one that could flexibly and rapidly scale resources in response to data growth and fluctuations in processing loads associated with business expansion.

To address these challenges, Daito Kentaku began building a new database foundation. The company decided to adopt "Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer" due to its high affinity with architectures utilizing "Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)" and "Oracle Data Guard" for high-availability configurations, as well as the ability to enjoy cloud flexibility while keeping the hardware installed within their own data center.
By integrating into "Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer," the company achieved a unification of its previously distributed database foundations, simultaneously reducing operational management burdens and optimizing costs. Compared to performing an on-premises upgrade with the previous configuration, construction costs are expected to be reduced by approximately 25 percent and operational costs by approximately 32 percent.
Significant improvements were also seen in performance; data integration via ETL linkage processing was reduced from approximately 1 hour to about 15 minutes, achieving a 4x speed increase. Furthermore, the time required for monthly fee calculations and billing processing was reduced from approximately 306 minutes to about 141 minutes, a reduction of approximately 54 percent. This contributes to both improved stability of business operations and a reduction in the risk of processing delays during peak periods.
In terms of availability, the company is strengthening business resilience by performing replication via "Oracle Data Guard" between multiple "Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer" units within the data center, and by establishing a backup environment utilizing "Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)" to enable rapid recovery in the event of a disaster.
Jun Tsuzuki, General Manager of the Information Systems Department at Daito Kentaku Co., Ltd., stated: "When refreshing the database foundation supporting our core business systems, we prioritized availability, performance, and scalability, leading us to adopt 'Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer.' We have achieved database consolidation and reduced operational burdens while maintaining high affinity with our existing 'Oracle RAC' configuration. Furthermore, the acceleration of ETL processing and billing-related tasks has improved operational stability and processing efficiency, and we believe we have established a foundation that can flexibly respond to future business growth and increases in data volume."
"Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer" is a highly flexible cloud infrastructure installed within a customer's data center. In addition to the high performance and reliability of Exadata, it provides the benefits of the cloud, such as elastic capacity expansion, a subscription-based pricing model, and automated operations. Through services such as "Oracle Exadata Database Service" and "Oracle Autonomous AI Database," it supports the latest "Oracle AI Database" workloads, including AI, OLTP, and analytics, while also assisting in meeting data residency requirements.
Nippon Steel Solutions Corporation provided support for the design and construction of this implementation.
