OptQC Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Hiroshi Takase; hereinafter "the Company"), which develops optical quantum computers, welcomed Keiji Niitsu as outside director and Makoto Uchida as outside auditor on December 19, 2025, to accelerate business growth and strengthen its management foundation. Furthermore, we announce that Noriaki Iwata, a founding member and Director/COO (Chief Operating Officer), has joined full-time starting February 2026.
With this, we will establish a robust management system that further boosts our growth speed and an agile business execution framework centered on intellectual property strategy, thereby promoting the societal implementation of optical quantum computers.
■ Background of Strengthening the Management System
The optical quantum computer being developed by our company is a next-generation technology possessing computational power that overwhelmingly surpasses conventional computers, expected to revolutionize drug discovery and financial forecasting.
Having raised a total of 2.15 billion yen in approximately one year since its establishment, our company is currently at a turning point, transitioning from the technology verification phase to a phase aiming for commercial deployment.
To further accelerate this growth speed, Iwata, who has been involved in the core of management since the company's founding, has joined full-time. The addition of Iwata's expertise, having led transformations in many business corporations, will achieve faster decision-making and maximization of business development.
Furthermore, by inviting intellectual property and governance experts as outside officers and transitioning to a company with a Board of Directors and Board of Auditors, we have established a robust management foundation capable of competing globally.
