Purpose: The Japanese government and the Tokyo Stock Exchange have set a target for prime-listed companies to reach at least 30% female representation on their boards by 2030. Institutional investors and proxy advisory firms are also increasingly demanding female leadership. As of the end of June 2025, the ratio of female board members in listed companies stood at 14.2%. While the number of external female directors is growing, internal promotions remain at around 10% even among prime-listed companies. In this seminar, we will discuss how to find female external directors and the secrets to internal promotion, while introducing our "Female Executive AI Search" service. We will also address how ongoing revisions to the Corporate Governance Code will impact the appointment of external directors.
