Oizumi Factory Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Kantaro Oizumi; hereinafter, Oizumi Factory), which operates the plant-based cafe "BROOKS GREENLIT CAFE" in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, will hold the "Plant-Based Ice Cream COLLECTION" featuring carefully selected plant-based (vegetable) ice creams from all over Japan starting Friday, May 22, 2026. From Friday, May 29, they will also hold the "Midsummer Fermented Drink Grand Strategy feat. _SHIP KOMBUCHA" offering fermented soda and fermented soda floats using the fermented sparkling tea "_SHIP KOMBUCHA," both for a limited time.

According to the "Three-Month Weather Outlook (※1)" announced by the Japan Meteorological Agency in April 2026, a severe hot summer is predicted again this year. As the demand for "coolness" increases earlier than usual, BROOKS GREENLIT CAFE not only provides coolness but also proposes new ways to enjoy summer comfortably while minimizing environmental impact.

With the desire to make the increasingly hot season as comfortable, delicious, and enjoyable as possible, we have planned two fairs themed around plant-based ice cream and fermented drinks.

Background of Implementation: Balancing environmental impact reduction and wellness through fermentation

At BROOKS GREENLIT CAFE, based on the idea that "sustainable choices that can be made in daily life lead to action for the Earth," we propose sustainable options that can be easily enjoyed in daily life through plant-based ice creams made from plant-derived ingredients and drinks using "_SHIP KOMBUCHA," an organic JAS certified fermented sparkling tea.

<Plant-Based Ice Cream COLLECTION>

28 types of ice cream are carefully selected from all over Japan. By offering a wide variety, we aim to raise awareness for a sustainable future through the joy of choosing.

Choosing products made from plant-based ingredients, which generally suppress greenhouse gas emissions more than animal-derived ingredients, is attracting attention as one option to reduce the burden on the global environment. In addition, plant-based ingredients not only tend to suppress greenhouse gas emissions during production, but also reduce the use of pastures, feed crops, and water resources associated with livestock farming, making them a more resource-efficient option compared to animal-based foods (※2).

<Midsummer Fermented Drink Grand Strategy feat. _SHIP KOMBUCHA>

Especially in summer, when opportunities for hydration increase, we propose choices that care for the body.

"_SHIP KOMBUCHA," manufactured and sold by Oizumi Factory, which forms the base of fermented soda, is characterized by the acidity of organic acids such as acetic acid produced by fermentation, a deep aroma, and a light, slightly carbonated mouthfeel, making it enjoyable as an "adult soft drink." In recent years, fermented foods have also attracted attention as a wellness food option, linked to lifestyles that are conscious of the intestinal environment. In summer, when appetite tends to decrease and opportunities for frequent hydration increase, we offer a drink that not only "just drinks" but also refreshes the mood and cares for the body.
