When I traveled abroad, I often struggled in various situations like restaurants, hotels, stations, and taxis because I didn't understand the local language.

I couldn't convey what I wanted to say.

I couldn't understand what the other person was saying.

I wasn't sure if I was being understood correctly.

Just because of language barriers, I felt anxious, troubled, and sometimes even gave up.

At that moment, I thought:

Foreigners visiting Japan must feel the same way.

From there, we began developing a translation device.

However, as we continued development, we realized something else.

It's not just foreigners;

People who cannot hear

People who have difficulty speaking

Elderly people

There are many people in Japan who struggle with conversation and communication.

Our "okitalk" stationary AI translation and writing device can be used not only for voice translation but also for displaying text and writing, making it useful not only for foreigners but also for communication with people who have difficulty speaking or hearing.

And in the future, we aim to challenge the development of a function that reads sign language with a camera and converts it into spoken language.

When I was a child, among Doraemon's tools, there was the "Translation Jelly" – a future tool that allowed communication even without understanding the language and helped with problems.

Now that I'm an adult, what we aim for is not just to create a translation device, but to create a tool, like Doraemon's gadgets, that enables anyone to communicate.

Of course, we haven't created such a tool yet, but our "okitalk" stationary AI translation and writing device is evolving daily, getting closer step by step.

Our dream is to create a world where no one struggles with conversation or communication.

To create a society where people can communicate with each other, even if their languages are different, even if they cannot speak, even if they cannot hear.
