We support April Dream, an initiative that makes April 1st a day to broadcast dreams. This press release is the dream of the 'Stationary AI Translator & Written Communication Device okitalk'.
FIELD Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture https://www.okitalk.jp ) is working on the development and popularization of the stationary AI translator and written communication device 'okitalk' to solve various communication challenges, such as language differences and voice/hearing impairments, and to realize a society where people do not struggle with conversation and communication.
When I traveled abroad, I didn't understand the local language and experienced difficulties in various situations like restaurants, hotels, stations, and taxis.
Not being able to convey what I want to say.
Not understanding what the other person is saying.
Not knowing if my message was properly understood.
Just because of the language barrier, I felt anxious, troubled, and sometimes even gave up.
That's when I realized.
Foreign visitors coming to Japan must be feeling the exact same way.
That is where we started the development of our translation device.
