On January 1, 2026, OKI signed a strategic partnership agreement with Lazarus Enterprise, Inc. (CEO: Alex Panait, headquartered in Massachusetts, USA), a company providing safe and highly reliable AI operation technologies. The two companies will combine their strengths to accelerate AI implementation in mission-critical fields, including defense, social infrastructure, and enterprise core operations.

While AI use in business is expanding for efficiency and productivity gains, full-scale adoption has been slow in areas involving human life, legal compliance, social infrastructure, and enterprise core operations due to risks of hallucination (false information generation) and the challenge of verifying the basis of AI-generated answers. Against this backdrop, demand is growing for high-reliability AI that can be used safely on the front lines, not just for automation.

This strategic partnership will merge OKI's field-based expertise with Lazarus AI's advanced technologies to accelerate AI proposals for the field.

Lazarus AI's technology features transparent information generation that cites sources, advanced document understanding for accurate analysis of diverse documents, and high security backed by adoption by the U.S. Department of Defense. OKI will implement these technologies based on its field knowledge and operational know-how cultivated in the defense sector, addressing challenges such as accuracy, accountability, and consistency that conventional AI has struggled with. This enables AI use in highly confidential areas, including operational decisions for critical equipment and transfer of expert knowledge. Additionally, it supports on-premise deployment, allowing for improved decision quality and reduced workload while maintaining confidentiality.

Going forward, OKI and Lazarus AI will work on concretizing and demonstrating AI models that can withstand real-world operation in social infrastructure and critical enterprise operations, including defense, and will deliver new value to customers and society through field use cases. OKI will continue to contribute to a safe, secure, and sustainable society through the use of advanced technologies including AI.

Comment from Lazarus AI CEO Alex Panait:

I am truly delighted with this strategic partnership with OKI. I have great respect for OKI's rich history, world-class talent, and strong customer relationships including its long-standing contributions to the public sector. By combining OKI's market presence and domain knowledge with Lazarus AI's advanced enterprise AI technology and systems, we are opening a new and important chapter in our global market strategy. I look forward to working closely with the OKI team to deliver lasting value to customers and drive innovation together.
