[Okayama University] Okayama University Faculty of Education 4th-year students Chiharu Yoshioka and Akaru Miyahara receive volunteer awards

May 3, 2026 National University Corporation Okayama University https://www.okayama-u.ac.jp/ ◆ Overview Chiharu Yoshioka and Akaru Miyahara, both fourth-year students of the Faculty of Education at National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; President: Yasutomo Nasu), received volunteer awards from the National Agency for Youth Education. The award ceremony was held on March 24, 2026, at the main building of the Faculty of Education on the university's Tsushima Campus. During the ceremony, Takuto Adachi, Director of the National Kibi Youth Nature House, presented the award certificates. From the Faculty of Education, Dean Jun Takase, supervising Professor Tetsuo Kiyota, Associate Professor Aiko Tsushima, and other related personnel attended. The National Agency for Youth Education operates unique educational programs utilizing natural environments and culture at 28 facilities nationwide, including the National Kibi Youth Nature House. Volunteer activities play a crucial role in supporting these educational programs. Many students from Okayama University also engage in volunteer activities at the National Kibi Youth Nature House. Ms. Yoshioka, as the representative of the corporate volunteer group "Kibi Woolies" in her third year, led "Volunteer Self-Initiated Projects," while Ms. Miyahara actively participated as a corporate volunteer in educational programs such as "SEA TO SUMMIT for children in KIBI" and "Cutter Experience Session." They were recognized and awarded for their achievements, which serve as a role model for other corporate volunteers in balancing their studies and volunteer activities.
