◆ Overview
The third meeting of the Reiwa 7 academic year for the "Okadai Konwakai," composed of volunteer alumni in the Kanto region, was held on January 19, 2026, at "Tottori Okayama Shinbashi Kan," an antenna shop for Okayama and Tottori prefectures (Minato-ku, Tokyo). This event is one of the activities of "Okayama University Alumni," the all-university alumni organization of National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, President: Yasutomo Nasu).
The meeting is organized by the Alumni Tokyo Branch and serves as a venue for alumni, primarily members of each faculty's alumni association, to gather across faculties and exchange information, thereby expanding the reach of the branch's activities. This third meeting of the year was attended by 24 alumni from various faculties and graduate schools, along with Mr. Keiichi Konaga, President of Alumni (all-university alumni association) (Faculty of Law and Letters: current Faculty of Law graduate), who is the representative of the organization, and President Yasutomo Nasu from Okayama (Medical School graduate).
At the beginning, Mr. Norihito Sato, Vice Executive Director, Vice President, and Senior URA (Dental School graduate) stationed in Tokyo, provided an explanation of the university's recent activities based on the public relations magazine "Ichō Namiki" and introduced the "Okayama University Integrated Report 2025 Pay it Forward" published this fiscal year. President Nasu also expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support of the university and highlighted the book "Shisei Ten ni Tsuzu - Keiichi Konaga 'Talking About Life'" (Sanyo Shimbun, edited and authored by Keiichi Konaga), written by President Konaga.
Following this, after participants shared their recent updates and engaged in lively discussions, President Konaga concluded by sharing his thoughts on the book introduced by President Nasu and offered words of encouragement to the attending alumni.
Any alumnus of our university, regardless of their undergraduate faculty or graduate school, can participate in this meeting. The next meeting is scheduled to be held in Tokyo on April 20th from 6:30 PM. 〇Comment from President Yasutomo Nasu I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the alumni who participated in this year's final "Okadai Konwakai." This fiscal year, our university became the first in Japan to issue a "Research University Declaration" and is strengthening its efforts to achieve the Okayama University Long-Term Vision 2050. In this context, our graduates are important stakeholders. While cherishing your sentiments, we aim to make Okayama University, with its rich history and tradition, a forward-looking, open, regional core university with distinctive research, without resting on our laurels. Okayama University is constantly changing. We will continue to strive to be a university where our alumni can always feel "Okayama University Love." Thank you for your continued support of Okayama University.
