◆Overview
On March 11, 2026, the awards ceremony for the 'FY2025 Student Innovation Challenge Promotion Project' was held at Okayama City Hall, where two groups from our university, the SCOG Leaders of the Crop Production Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, and the Sakou Laboratory, Faculty of Education, received awards.
This project supports activities and challenges in small-scale businesses that solve regional issues through the proposal and implementation of flexible ideas unique to young people. Following a screening at the activity report meeting held in February, five organizations, including our university's two groups, were selected for awards from among 26 groups.
Nagisa Takada (4th year, Faculty of Agriculture), a representative of the SCOG Leaders of the Crop Production Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture (Project Name: 'Small City in Our Garden (SCOG) - A Greenhouse Design Project Led by Children and Students'), who received an award, expressed her gratitude and commented, 'I am very happy that elementary, junior high, high school, and university students are involved in this activity, which we launched in April 2025. In FY2026, we will model this activity and develop it into a sustainable initiative that represents the Faculty of Agriculture at Okayama University.' Similarly, Manato Oda (4th year, Faculty of Education) from the Sakou Laboratory, Faculty of Education (Project Name: 'Inclusive 'Urja Dance' Project'), who also received an award, expressed his joy along with his gratitude, stating, 'Through the activities of 'Rinbu Onra,' I am committed to further enlivening Okayama and 'Urja' together with everyone.'
