◆ Overview
On March 10, 2026, the "FY2025 TC College Certification Ceremony" was held in a hybrid format at the Ookayama Campus of the Tokyo Institute of Science.

Okayama University participates in the TC College as a satellite school. At the certification ceremony, Masahiro Narasaki, Section Chief, and Moemi Tsukano, Technical Supervisor, both from the Medical Systems Technical Section of the Comprehensive Technical Division at our university, were certified as the first Technical Conductors (TC) in the Medical Engineering TC course. This marks the birth of the first TC certified personnel at our university. In addition, five individuals were certified as Technical Masters (TM): Yuko Hojo and Sumire Ishihara (Instrumental Analysis and Plant/Animal Resources Technical Section), Hideo Ueki (Medical Systems Technical Section), Isao Yamane (Design/Manufacturing and Social Infrastructure Technical Section), and Yuri Nakamura (Educational Support Technical Section). With this, our university has a total of eight TM certified personnel, newly producing TMs in the management and material analysis fields.

At the ceremony, Mutsuko Hatano (Executive Vice President of Tokyo Institute of Science), Shingo Ebata (Director of TC College), Shigeomi Shimizu (Director of the Research Infrastructure Management Organization), and guests offered congratulatory remarks and words of encouragement. Afterward, certificates were awarded to a total of 26 individuals, consisting of 12 TC certified personnel and 14 TM certified personnel for this academic year.

Following the certificate presentation, Technical Specialist Yamane gave a speech representing the TM certified personnel, reflecting on his learning experience: "Through programs such as technical presentations and discussions at engineering lectures, and visits to equipment manufacturers and JAXA, I was able to objectively review my own work and deepen my understanding of the commonalities and differences in technology between universities, companies, and research institutions. Going forward, I will return the knowledge and connections gained here to the workplace and exert even greater effort as an engineer supporting the research infrastructure," and expressed his future aspirations.

Section Chief Masahiro Narasaki commented, "Encouraged by the TC certification, I will continue to devote myself even more"; Technical Supervisor Tsukano stated, "I will earnestly tackle my daily duties with the responsibility and awareness of a TC"; and Technical Specialist Nakamura commented, "As a TM, I will continue to study harder and aim to become a highly specialized human resource." In addition, Vice President and Senior URA Norito Sato, General Manager of the Comprehensive Technical Division, commented, "Our university is strongly promoting the advancement of our staff. Furthermore, while actively utilizing not only internal but also external resources, we hope to reconstruct the 'knowledge' gained there internally and become knowledge workers who can develop new value. We ask for your continued support for the active roles of our university's technical staff."

Our university's Comprehensive Technical Division will continue to strategically strengthen and promote the advancement of technical staff by utilizing platforms like the TC College. Please continue to look forward to the activities of Okayama University, an open regional core and distinctive research university, and its technical staff who play a vital part in it.
