Our hospital supports April Dream, a project that aims to make April 1st a day for announcing dreams. This press release is the dream of "Okayama Medical Co-operative General Hospital Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital."

Our dream is to evolve Okayama's community healthcare facilities into "community interaction hubs" where everyone, from children to the elderly, can easily gather, play, learn, and engage with health while eating.

## ■ The Background to Realizing This Dream

The role of medical institutions in the community extends beyond mere diagnosis and treatment.
As the population ages and birth rates decline, improving health awareness, fostering intergenerational exchange, and building community ties are becoming increasingly important. However, hospitals are often perceived as places to go only when one is unwell. That's why we want to make hospitals more open and create opportunities for people to feel closer to medicine and health.

By combining healthcare, health, food, experiences, and entertainment, we aim to create a society where local residents naturally become interested in health and connect with the hospital.
This is the future Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital envisions.

## ■ Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital's Initiatives

As a first step, last year, on Sunday, November 23, 2025, we held the "Health Festival 2025 Connecting to the Future" to commemorate our 65th anniversary. The weather was favorable on the day, and approximately 4,000 people attended. The event featured themes of "play, eat, and learn," including about 15 food and drink stalls, medical experiences, health checks, animal interactions, photo spots, and stage events, offering activities for multiple generations. Furthermore, in a visitor survey, 92.3% of respondents indicated "satisfied" or "very satisfied," and we received many warm comments. Through this positive response, we reaffirmed the potential for hospitals to become open community interaction spaces.

## ■ Initiatives Planned for 2026

To further expand on this momentum, we plan to host the "Grand Dinosaur FES & Super Meat Gourmet FES," including a "Tyrannosaurus Race," at the hospital venue on Sunday, November 22, 2026.

*This event is planned as an initiative for community exchange and health promotion, with careful consideration for safety and operational aspects.

By combining the extraordinary excitement of dinosaurs, the joy of gourmet food, and learning about medicine and health, we aim to create opportunities for children, younger generations, and families who previously had little contact with hospitals to visit easily. We believe that these efforts should not end as one-off events; we want Okayama Kyoritsu Hospital to become a "symbolic place where people can encounter health in the community."

For example,

- Children can aspire to medical professions through medical experiences.
- Families can enjoy health checks and prevention together.
- Cooperating with local businesses and organizations can lead to the revitalization of the entire town.
- People can feel that it is a "safe and welcoming place to visit."

We aim to gradually realize such a state, starting from Okayama.

*"April Dream" is a project by PR TIMES where companies announce dreams they hope to achieve on April 1st. We are seriously committed to realizing this dream.
